Production and technology
Nestle began construction on a THB23 billion (US$700 million) coffee manufacturing facility in the Araya Industrial Estate in Samut Prakan Province, Thailand. The site, named House of NESCAFE Thailand, will produce a range of coffee products including instant, ready-to-drink, and canned coffee. The facility integrates proprietary coffee extraction and aroma preservation technologies alongside artificial intelligence, robotics, and advanced automation systems designed to improve operational efficiency, product quality, and sustainability throughout the plant. The site will also house a distribution centre and a dedicated Coffee Innovation Center to support product development, raw material research, and innovation initiatives aimed at advancing Thailand’s coffee industry.

Economic impact and sustainability
The project will create more than 500 jobs and source approximately THB4.3 billion (US$127.4 million) worth of raw materials annually from Thai farmers and suppliers, including coffee beans, sugar, and dairy ingredients, continuing a relationship with robusta producers that spans over four decades. Nestle will continue supporting local growers through agronomy training programs, seedling distribution, and various initiatives aimed at expanding coffee cultivation. The on-site distribution centre will incorporate automated storage and retrieval systems capable of holding more than 100,000 pallets, enabling integrated production, warehousing, and order-fulfilment operations. Sustainability plans for the facility include renewable electricity, biomass fuel, heat-recovery technology, water-recycling systems, and a zero-waste-to-landfill target.
Remi Agel, Executive Vice President and President of Nestle Asia, Oceania and Africa, says the investment reflects Nestle’s long-term confidence in Thailand’s coffee market and growing demand across Southeast Asia. "Coffee is Nestle’s largest business globally, and Thailand is one of our most dynamic coffee markets," Agel says. He says this investment will strengthen the company’s ability to meet growing consumer demand, increase production capacity in Southeast Asia, and support the long-term growth of the coffee sector. The facility expects to begin commercial production in the late 2028 period.
