The Nova Cafe is an independent news and features site about coffee, written in English for readers around the world. Despite the name, we are a publication, not a cafe: we do not sell coffee, take orders or run a venue. This website is not affiliated with any restaurant, cafe or coffee shop of the same or a similar name.
What we cover
Our reporting is organised into seven sections: Coffee Industry, Origins & Producers, Specialty & Roasting, Brewing & Equipment, Cafes & Culture, Sustainability, Events & Competitions.
- The business of coffee – companies, trade, supply chains and market changes, reported from verified sources.
- Where coffee comes from – producers, growing regions, harvests and processing.
- The craft – roasting, cupping, brewing methods and the equipment on the counter.
- The culture – cafes, people and traditions, sustainability questions, and the events and competitions that shape the year.
How we work
We separate news from opinion, name our sources, label sponsored material clearly and correct mistakes openly. Our standards are set out in the Editorial Policy. Dates and times on the site are given in UTC because our readers are spread across many time zones.
Tools for readers
Alongside the news you will find a few practical tools: a brew ratio calculator, a plain-English coffee glossary, reader polls and a list of upcoming coffee events whose dates we have checked with the organisers.
